Dear Exeter Youth Soccer Players and Families:
EYSA is pleased to announce that Player Evaluations for the Fall 2014 season will be held during the weeks of May 12th – 16th and May 19th – May 23th. Again this year the evaluations will be conducted fully by Reading United Player Development Program. The purpose of these evaluations is to give an independent analysis of each player's ability to compete at the highest level, plus to help the Coach and Player Development committee to create more skill level appropriate trainings for the fall season.
Our expectation of the players is that they will attend each of the evaluation sessions for their registered age group in order to be properly evaluated. In order to be eligible for the highest-level team, the player must attend both evaluation session(s) for their age group. In the event your son or daughter cannot attend their scheduled session for their age group, please refer to the bottom of this web page of this memo for directions. Simply not showing up for evaluations will place your son or daughter on the lowest level team fielded for their age group.
It is extremely important that all new participants, and especially the U9 players, attend all evaluations for their group so they can be properly evaluated for their first full year participating within our club’s travel program.
There will be a mandatory parents meeting at the beginning of each evaluation for the first weeks’ session. The meeting will be held at 6 PM (girls) and 7:15(boys.) At this meeting we will share with you the different levels of play available within our club and the Reading Berks Junior Soccer League and field questions you might have about the upcoming season.
If you believe that your son or daughter has the ability to play on a top level travel team one age group older than their normal age, please contact the appropriate boys/girls’ director prior to evaluations to discuss and to possibly set up his or her attendance at the higher level session in addition to your registered level. Playing up means the player will be rostered as a primary player one level higher than his/her normal age group, and will not practice or play games with classmates or friends of the same age. Please consider these factors when choosing to have your child play up.
You may not arrive at a different session without getting on that night’s attendance list by the director.
